HES-SO VALAIS-WALLIS

Bringing together training and applied research

With its 10 courses of study and 9 research institutes, the HES-SO Valais-Wallis is a veritable center of competence and innovation, preparing students for the world of work and contributing to the canton’s economic and social development and job creation. With around 2,800 students, the HES-SO Valais-Wallis comprises 5 colleges: the School of Engineering, the School of Management, the School of Health, the School of Social Work and the latest addition, the School of Design and the School of Art.

With the Haute Ecole d’Ingénierie (HEI) and its three applied research institutes, the HES-SO Valais-Wallis is becoming an essential link in the Energypolis Campus value chain, thanks to the skills it has developed in biotechnologies, renewable energies, multi-energy network management and electric mobility. All issues addressed and solutions developed take into account their impact on the environment.

The new health center is due to open in 2023 on the Valais Hospital site in Sion. Healthcare services are constantly changing, in particular as a result of technical developments and changes in social structures. The aim of the Haute Ecole de Santé (HEdS) is to offer high-quality training, and to act as a bridge between the technical evolution of healthcare systems and their human, social and community dimensions.

“This is a wonderful development opportunity, which will enable us to consolidate our training and research in engineering and health. The proximity of the EPF/HES will increase synergies and interdisciplinarity, essentially around the themes of energy, life sciences and health, in the service of economic development.
